Ok so I'm doing this. Nov Dec Jan were hard for the gym it had me depressed and ready to sell..... nah it wasn't that bad but it was hard. The responsibility it takes to run this place is huge and its bloody hard work. Still I wouldn't change it for the world. I love the look on the kids faces when they grade and when they start running around for their warmup. I love it when they are so proud that they brought a friend. or learned how to tie their belt. When a parent says hey how do we become members it really makes me smile inside I know that not only I have done my job but the kids, and parents watching have done theirs as well. The kids have been polite and helpful the parents have been friendly to new faces and are great role models within the dojo......... New people see all this and I'm sure it influences their decision as to whether N60 is for them or not. I look at some daycares and think heck Id never send my kids there, I don't want people saying that about our dojo.
We have some new projects on the go. I'm looking at running a bus around Whitehorse and picking up a load of kids for free training twice a week. I have found a sponsor to cover gas and a driver if we need one. I hope this works out and turns into something really special. The people I have told have had great feedback on it.
I told Danna Id leave at 10pm so I'm going to go do an hours karate training since I have a grading in a months time. On that subject we are planning for Chris Sutton to come up and do a self defense seminar and my COBRA black belt test, he asked if I was going there or if he was coming here, plus I'm working out my trip to Virginia, it looks like its really on the cards this year a JLFS black belt is something I really want.
Anyway off to train.

1st Blog Journal Entry
I don't really know what I'm supposed to write here. I have never kept a journal before. Some of you may be thinking heck he doesn't shut up why cant he just write instead of talking.
I guess I should be starting with why I'm doing the UBBT. I'm doing it so that I have a plan on how I'm going to change over the year.... hopefully for the best. I'm doing it so parents at the school can see what I'm up to IE not just prepping classes but actually using martial arts to make my life better. Its the plan for parents to then say hey look at Coach Campbell he has a black belt mentality, talks the talk and walks the walk. In turn encouraging the kids and developing them into better athletes and people.
I still need to decide what my test will include. The basics I posted to the Facebook page is not everything. I will find some of it hard to complete. Doing a journal once a week I will struggle with and truthfully mending three relationships (mandatory task) is going to be the hardest. I only have three people I need to mend relationships with and as much as I wouldn't see these people hurting I still don't want anything to do with them or have them ever come near the dojo again. Which means in essence I don't really forgive them?? or particularly want their forgiveness/ friendship. I still have to work that out.
I have started reading more. I posted a series of reading lists but I believe the list is given to us which helps lol. I need to start reading again.
The test is about me pushing myself and setting goals and letting you guys know what I'm doing so that I cant back out. I got a call today from COBRA head office asking if I am able to go to Florida in May for my black belt test which I said yes.
Anyway, as I said I don't know what to write. I'm doing this because I have to, for a number of reasons, not because I want to. As Tom says though it wouldn't be a test if it was easy. I think it will get easier and as more happens throughout the test Ill have more to share.
